A Barista prepares coffee and espresso beverages, serves customers, and helps maintain an efficient front-of-house operation in a Bronx café or similar food service setting. Typical duties include taking orders, making drinks to standard recipes, handling payment transactions, restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and keeping the service area organized. Baristas also help create a pleasant customer experience by communicating clearly and working quickly during peak periods. Good memory, basic math, teamwork, and attention to detail are useful qualifications. Prior café, restaurant, or customer service experience is helpful, but candidates who can learn drink procedures and maintain a professional pace may also be considered. The work is active and often requires standing for long periods, lifting light to moderate items, and moving between service, prep, and cleaning tasks. Schedules are usually part time and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on business demand. Consistency and a courteous approach are important in this role.
